Position(s) being advertised

With the signing of Charlie Matthews to Wasps, we have unfortunately lost our senior head coach and an all round asset to the club.

We are advertising for a new coach or coaches and the advert below is being circulated in various channels. As part of the recruitment campaign, we would like to keep you up to date and are also aware that our members are part of a valuable rugby network. Please have a read of the advert and socialise with your friends and contacts who may be interesting in getting into senior coaching.

There is an email address for responses in the document or have an informal chat with Nathan Scott, James Brodie or Darrell King if you would like to know more (see website contacts page for details).

Haslemere Community Rugby Club Senior Coaching Team

Haslemere Community Rugby Club is a growing club with a broad range of players, age groups and playing activities. Our age groups range from micros, minis and juniors, through to colts and seniors.
A position or positions have arisen to be part of the senior coaching team at Haslemere.
Haslemere seniors currently have sufficient players for around one-and-a-half teams and one of the strategic aims for the role would be to grow this to be able field two teams consistently. The seniors play in the RFU national league structure in the Surrey divisions and train one or two nights a week.
There are already a handful of part time and player coaches signed up to assist with senior coaching, but we are looking for someone to take charge of the Haslemere brand of rugby who can put together and implement a “play book”.
The Senior Coach role is very much a hands-on role, with emphasis on running the mid-week coaching sessions. It would be a very suitable position for a coach looking for RFU Level 3 Coaching Certification.
The junior section train and play on Sunday mornings. Ideally the senior coaching team would be involved in shaping the player pathway in line with Haslemere’s “One Club” philosophy. This aims, with growing success, to see graduates of the thriving junior rugby setup flow through into senior sides, keeping the Haslemere “rugby family” strong. Therefore, reinforcing the bonds with the colts and older junior age-groups is seen as a key aim.
Whilst there is no remuneration from the club associated with the role, there is budget to develop the senior teams in ways which the coaching team perceive likely to deliver the most benefit = for example investing in fitness and conditioning sessions, away days, kit or anything else that would create the right environment for success.
Applications are invited by emailing a CV and covering letter to dor@haslemererugby.co.uk, with a closing date of 30th June 2017. Interviews will take place during July. The new Director/Coach is expected to be in place at the latest by 1st August to ensure a smooth and successful pre-season lift-off.
