Camberley arrived with both their A and B teams - 30 players and 5 coaches. We had 18 players. One pitch was waterlogged so we moved to the pitch behind the trees. Fortunately the rain had stopped and the sun came out. We played 3 games of 20 minutes each of 15 a side on nearly a full size pitch. Gill coached while I reffed, Will was Captain. Camberley put out their strongest sides in the first two games and won both 2 tries to nil. Their rucking was superior to ours and we were turned over to easily when we had the ball and their fly half who was quite a big unit was able to run at us too easily. However they were good games and we had some solid defence and soaked up pressure and had some opportunities which could have been scores on another day. A few missed tackles let them in for a few tries but it was a good contest. In the last match Camberley did not have all their As playing but a mix of As and Bs and we dominated that winning 2 tries to 1 - a quite comfortable victory as the Camberley try came at the end of the game. It was a good finish and the Camberley coaching team were a nice bunch.
Other notes - Scrum was pretty solid. Ben Hewitt had a good game and was Coaches player of the day, Charlie played well at flanker but I prefer him in the centres, Monty Goodfellow had a great game at hooker.
