Haslemere welcomed Guildford for a Waterfall Cup Final match under floodlights at Woolmer Hill on Friday evening in front of a record crowd.
Despite Haslemere taking a 12-0 lead through 2 Ben Allden tries, Guildford fought back to create a cliff-hanger finish at 12-12.
With 15 minutes to go, Luey Woodger converts a tricky penalty which proved to be just enough, albeit it made for a tense finish.
Both teams were an absolute credit to their clubs and the crowd were quite rightly generous in their applause at the end of the match.
Bodes well for next season’s Colts !
