Under 10s value the key RFU principles

U10’s this year have taken what they learnt last year with contact rugby at U9 and got off to a fast start – getting straight back into tackling with aggression and enjoying the physicality. We’ve welcomed 8 news faces this year and they all have got straight into competitive rugby, with the U10’s managing to put out 2 squads to the Camberley festival. On what was a very wet day, the boys played brilliantly with both the A’s and B’s getting to 3rd place. We can count ourselves very competitive vs clubs with more players and our level of will is superb!

As a squad, we are continuing to train against our playing principles; Creativity, Aggression, Speed and Teamwork. What’s becoming obvious in the various matches we play is that we’re not going to be biggest of teams. Therefore we need to play to our strengths of speed and agility – this will require us to pass the ball more often, which is work in progress.

Other highlights from the season so far are a strong performance by the A’s at Waverley (we came 3rd there too), an away trip to a windy Dorking and then a trip to Chobham.

We are always welcoming new players, so please do not hesitate to get in contact and come up on a Sunday morning for a trial session.
