Lovely weather for a first Festival, although a steep learning curve for the boys.
Playing against sides which had large numbers of players coming through from the U6s, a luxury we don’t have, and our policy of giving everyone a go, meant we were up against strong sides. However only a couple of the results were one sided, and we scored 26 tries today. We will catch up quickly as our boys have only be been playing for one, two or three weeks in most cases.
Playing Festivals is a good way to see where we need to put some work in, clearly keeping behind the player with the ball, not panicking when tagged, and making sure passes go to hand are the areas we will be working on.
However there was some good running and passing, Camberley Festival next week.
